About the Department

The Physiotherapy Department at Nyeri County Referral Hospital is committed to restoring, maintaining, and maximizing movement and functional ability for individuals across all stages of life. Our team of trained professionals uses a range of evidence-based techniques to help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and enhance overall well-being. We offer both outpatient and inpatient services using modern therapeutic approaches and facilities.

  • Disability Assessment – Specialized physical assessments conducted in collaboration with other departments.

  • ICU Physiotherapy – 24/7 coverage for patients requiring critical care support.

  • Pain Management – Utilization of physical modalities such as ultrasound, TENS, and traction for effective pain control.

  • Neuro-muscular Rehabilitation – Targeted therapy for patients with stroke, spinal injuries, or neuromuscular disorders.

  • Therapeutic Exercises – Gym-based and manual exercise programs to restore mobility and strength.

  • Manual Therapy – Hands-on techniques including massage, joint mobilization, and manipulation.

  • Patient Education – Personalized education on injury prevention, recovery exercises, and posture correction.

  • Fully Equipped Gymnasium – For therapeutic and functional exercise routines.

  • Electronic Traction Room – Spinal decompression therapy and lumbar/cervical traction.

  • Therapeutic Wax Therapy – For joint pain relief and hand therapy.

  • Electrotherapy Modalities – Including TENS, ultrasound, and nerve stimulation equipment.

  • 1 Principal Physiotherapist In-Charge

  • 1 Deputy Principal Physiotherapist

  • 8 Qualified Physiotherapists – Competent, ethical, and compassionate service providers.

Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Outpatient & Inpatient Services)

  • Friday – Physical/Pediatric

The Physiotherapy Department is CLOSED on public holidays. ICU physiotherapy services are available 24/7.
